課程概述

This is a class integrates the concepts of structural biology and bioinformatics. There are four major parts: 1) The basic principles of how 20 amino acids affect protein structures. 2) The modern methods currently adopted to resolve atomic resolution of protein structures will be explained. 3) Software tools for protein structure display and analysis, including PyMol, Swiss PDB viewer and UCSF Chimera, will be demonstrated. Several bioinformatics concepts and web servers will be mentioned in this class. 4) The mechanism behind protein structure and functional exertion will be emphasized and exercised via student presentations.
